action displays beautifully executed floral scroll engraving covering nearly
the entire surface, including the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs. The triggerplate is signed “F. IORA INC.” to the right of the trigger for the highly skilled Italian engraver Ferruccio Iora. The gun features bushed firing pins, a single trigger, and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point
checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including the Anson button release, and a gold inlaid emblem with a coronet over “IMPERIALE- MONTECARLO”. The highly figured straight grip stock features teardrop carved flats, an extended lower tang, and a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock
measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.3mm (.720 inches) and measured .723/.722 inches; choke constriction .034/.040 inches; minimum wall thickness .031/.030 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 99% reapplied blue finish with some plum color on the toplever and 99% original coin finish with some areas of light oil discoloration. The gun shows minor handling evidence overall. There is a crack near the front right of the forend; otherwise, the wood is also very fine with a few minor scratches and sharp checkering. Factory Madina Signed and Engraved True Pair of Grulla Armas Left Handed Self-Opening Sidelock Double Barrel Shotguns with Case
-A) Grulla Armas Sidelock Shotgun

1/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish,
walnut stock. Since 1932 Grulla Armas
has been producing fine arms in Eibar,
Spain, and have created a name for
themselves as makers of very fine guns
and rifles. This pair is built with blued
steel barrels featuring single bead sights
on the smooth solid ribs which are
marked with a gold “1” or “2” respectively at the base, bands of
light engraving at the breeches, import marks under the forends,
2005 date of manufacture, and 2 3/4 inch chokes with automatic
ejectors. The attractive coin finished self-opening sidelock actions
displays beautifully cut floral scroll engraving with lovely use of
the negative space with the scroll extending to the left hand rolled
triggerguard protecting the double triggers, the left hand throw
toplevers, and the automatic tang safeties. The engraver signed their
work “MADINA” on the triggerplates. The wood is exceptionally well
figured and shows multi-point checkering on the semi-beavertail
forends which have engraved fittings with a gold “1” or “2” on the
Anson button releases and the straight grip stocks inlaid with silver
inscription ovals marked “NGN” and showing checkered bare butts.
Included is a fine oak & leather takedown case with canvas cover that
houses both the “A” and “B” guns. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L):
bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved and measured at
18.6mm (.732 inches); choke constriction .017/.009 inches; minimum wall
thickness .026/.025 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at
heel; 14 15/16 inch length of pull; cast-on (off for a left handed shooter); weight 6 lbs. 9 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is
excellent. Mechanically excellent.
B) Grulla Armas Sidelock Shotgun - Serial no. 310313005, 12 gauge, 28 1/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. As described in “A”. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved and measured at 18.6mm (.732 inches); choke constriction .017/.009 inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.026 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at heel; 14 15/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 9 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
