Factory Engraved Left Handed Famars.470 Nitro Express “Africa Express” Boxlock
Double Rifle with Case and Ammunition - Serial no. 935, 470 NE cal., 24 1/8 inch solid
rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued Bohler Super Blitz steel
barrels with a ramped beaded blade front sight, two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear
sight with gold inlaid sighting lines on the rear quarter rib, light engraving at the breech, 1990
dated Italian proofs and chambers with automatic ejectors. The casehardened boxlock action displays
border engraving with stylized “CHAMPLIN-FAMARS” marked on either side and “AFRICA EXPRESS/CAL. 470 NE.” marked on the underside. The rifle
features bushed firing pins, dual triggers (front is articulated), and a tang mounted automatic safety. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings including the rotary latch, and pistol grip stock with left hand cheekpiece, casehardened trapdoor grip cap, inscription oval marked “N/G/N”, rear sling swivel, and a red rubber recoil pad. Included with the rifle is a factory oak and leather takedown case and 99 rounds of 470 Nitro Express ammunition labelled as from Norma and Federal. Length of pull 14 7/8 inches. Weight 11 lbs. 1 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 97% original blue and casehardened finishes with some minor spots of thinning on the barrels, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.
