chambers with automatic ejectors, 2006 dated Italian proofs, and chokes marked improved cylinder/improved modified. The casehardened boxlock action shows a small game scene of a woodcock on the left and dove on the right with both birds inlaid in gold, a gold
inlaid hawk bust on the toplever and features double set triggers and a tang mounted safety. Beautifully contrasted, multi-point checkered walnut splinter forend with lightly engraved fittings and straight grip stock with Beretta wood recoil pad. Includes original box and factory takedown case. Stock measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at the comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at the heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks and crisp engraving and stock checkering. Box is fine. Case is very fine. Mechanically excellent. Factory Engraved Arrieta 16 Gauge Model 578 Hand Detachable Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 57-03-122-01, 16 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 2001. Blued steel barrels with a single brass bead sight on the matted solid rib, standard markings, light engraving at the breech, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and chokes marked “****”/”***” (improved cylinder/modified). The casehardened hand detachable sidelock action displays rose and
scroll engraving. A gold inlaid fleur-de-lis flanked by “A” and “C” is on the triggerguard. The gun features bushed firing pins, dual triggers,
and tang mounted automatic safety switch with gold inlaid “SAFE” marking. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and highly figured straight grip stock with “PCW” in the inscription oval and checkered bare butt. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 15 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 6 oz.
