Factory Engraved Gebruder Merkel Hand Detachable Sidelock Over/ Under Combination Gun Two Barrel Set with Scope - Serial no. 56395, 12
   gauge, 25 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued Bohler steel barrels with a beaded blade front sight, flip-up rear sight, and German claw mounts holding a Hensoldt-Wetzlar Diavari-D 1.5-6x scope on the matted solid rib. The barrels show standard era factory markings, import mark under the forend, 1962 dated German proofs, and attractive scroll engraving around the breech section. The shotgun barrel has a 2 3/4 inch chamber and choke
constriction of .055 inches. The coin finishes bolstered hand detachable sidelock action displays beautiful extensive scroll engraving over a matted background with floral designs incorporated into the bolsters and the top of the action and scrollwork continuing onto the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs. The gun features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Highly figured, multi-point
checkered three piece forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with polymer grip cap, Shelhamer chinstrap behind grip, shadowline cheekpiece, and checkered horn buttplate. Included is an extra set of matching numbered and engraved 12 gauge over/under barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers and choke constrictions of .046/.050 inches. Length of pull 14 9/16 inches. Weight 9 lbs. 5 oz. with scope. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue finish with the loss on the lower tang, 98% original coin finish with some areas of light oxidation, and overall minor handling evidence. The wood is very fine with a tiny chip from the left of the forend, a few small scratches, and sharp checkering. Scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 9,000 - 14,000

LOT 3607 Factory Engraved Gebruder Merkel Boxlock Over/Under Shotgun - Serial no. 83772, 12 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued Special Laufstahl barrels with a single white bead sight on the matted vent rib, standard era factory markings, import mark under forend, 1972 dated German proofs, and chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished bolstered boxlock action displays floral scroll engraving which extends to the toplever, triggerguard, and both tangs. The gun features double triggers (front articulated) and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Attractive, nicely figured, multi-point checkered three-piece forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with black polymer grip cap and buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.4mm (.724 inches) and both measured .726 inches; choke constriction .028/.042 inches; minimum wall thickness .034/.032 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at heel; 14 5/8 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 15 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish, 95% plus original coin finish, minimal minor handling evidence, some areas of light discoloration in the

Factory Game Scene Engraved and Peise Signed Gebruder Merkel 20 Gauge Model 201E Over/Under Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 277097, 20 gauge, 26 7/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1994. Blued barrels with single brass bead sight on the matted vent rib, standard Merkel markings, 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and choke constrictions of .017/.034 inches. The coin grey action displays floral scroll surrounding a dog flushing mallards on the left and a covey of flushing quail on the right and features a double triggers with articulated front and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Signed “PEISE” on the left side. Attractively figured, multi-point checkered three-piece forend with engraved fittings including the Deeley latch release and straight grip stock with leather covered recoil pad.
