Cased Last Serial Number Mauser Model 98 Double Square Bridge Centennial Commemorative Bolt Action Sporting Rifle in .375 Holland & Holland - Serial no. H100/100, 375 H& H cal., 25 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Features fixed blade front and three notched folding leaf rear sights. The barrel is marked “Mauser banner/1898/1998” and with a Brolin Arms import mark. This was the last rifle in the limited series of one hundred, as indicated by the serial number “H100/100.” A second series of one hundred rifles in .416 Rigby was also manufactured. These dangerous game sporting rifles were built on the Mauser Model 98 Magnum Action. See the following lot for the last serial number version in .416 Rigby. Fitted with a multi-point checkered walnut stock with black Mauser rubber recoil pad and sling swivels fixed to the barrel and buttstock. Includes a brown leather carry case, original test fire target, cleaning rod, and bore brushes. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with light handling marks and crisp stock checkering. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 6,000 - 9,000

This was the last rifle in the limited series of one hundred in .416 Rigby, as indicated by the serial number “R100/100.” A second series of one hundred rifles in .375 H&H was also manufactured. LOT 3661 Griffin & Howe Engraved German Mauser Type Bolt Action Sporting Rifle - Serial no. 8465, 416 R.Mag cal., 23 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrel with ramped, beaded blade front sight, sling stud on the barrel band, matted rear quarter rib with three leaf (one standing, two folding) rear sight with gold center lines, “REBARRELED BY GRIFFIN & HOWE INC. NEW YORK” ahead of the rib, and dual wedges of scrollwork at the breech. The double square bridge Mauser 98 type action has matted bridges flanked by engraving, jewelled bolt, and engraved and knurled bolt handle. The bottom metal shows the same attractive scroll engraving. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with ebony tip, engraved recoil bolt, blued engraved grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, inscription oval marked “J.K.H.”, rear sling stud, and ventilated red rubber recoil pad. CONDITION: Excellent overall as built by Griffin & Howe, retaining 99% blue finish, minimal minor handling evidence, and overall sharp checkering on the stock. Mechanically excellent. John Rigby & Co. Mauser 98 Action “Highland Stalker” Bolt Action Rifle with Case - Serial no. 14082, 30-06 Springfield cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Designed for the purpose of field performance hunting game in the Scottish and Irish highlands, this rifle was crafted by the famed John Rigby & Co. in England on a Mauser 98 action made in Germany. It features a hooded ramped bead front and folding express rear sights graduated for 65, 150, and 250 yards with a centerline to aid with sight alignment. The top of the barrel is signed “J. Rigby & Co. London. England” and British proofmarks are present on the right side of the breech as well as the underside of the muzzle. The receiver is drilled and tapped. The rifle is fitted with a multi-point checkered and finely-figured walnut stock, along with a tawny
colored rubber recoil pad. Included is a Rigby hard case, scope rings, and the original Rigby test target. CONDITION: Excellent overall as built by John Rigby & Co., retaining 99% original blue finish with limited handling marks and crisp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 6,000

Dakota Arms Model 76 Bolt Action Rifle in .280 Remington with Scope - Serial no. 013161, 280 Rem cal., 23 1/8 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Fitted with beaded blade front sight and standing leaf rear sight on the rear quarter rib on the blued barrel. The blued action is unadorned aside from the standard maker’s marks and serial number, holding a set of scope rings mounted with a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x40mm scope. Nicely contrasting figured pistol grip stock with multi- point checkering, contrasting forend cap, blued skeletonized grip cap, and blued skeletonized buttplate. Includes camouflaged scope cover. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue finish with an area of rubbing on the buttplate and minor handling evidence. The stock is very fine with scattered minor handling marks and sharp checkering. Scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000
