6471, 12 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Founded by Rudolfo Cosmi, the firm has built a reputation amongst shooters as a manufacturer of
extremely well shooting guns over the years. Remarkably, this design dates to around the turn of the 20th century, Cosmi guns appear to be both futuristic while
also hearkening to the past with its unique break action semi-automatic action. The gun is operated by breaking the action to expose the internals, loading shells in the magazine tube which is housed in the stock, placing a round in the chamber, then manually cocking the hammer before closing the action and making the gun read to fire. The gun is built with a blued Bohler Antinit steel barrel featuring single bead sight on the matted vent rib, 1992 dated Italian proofs, 2 3/4 inch chamber, and
interchangeable choke improved cylinder. The blued action is unadorned aside from a gold “2” on the toplever, a
single button on the left, and the Cosmi factory marking on the left side reading “COSMI - BREV.’ ANCONA - ITALY”.
Highly attractive, contrasting straight figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with blank gold
inscription oval and a leather faced rubber recoil pad. Included is an extra matching numbered 29 5/8 inch barrel with
an improved modified choke installed. Stock measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16
inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 6 lbs.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% plus original blue finish with some light dried grease spots on the action,
scratches at the right side of the muzzle, a few areas of light spotting, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
The extra is excellent. Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 10,000 - 14,000
