Factory Engraved Gebruder Merkel Model 140 Boxlock Double Rifle in 470 NE with Case - Serial no. A470358, 470 NE cal., 23 9/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued Krupp steel barrels with a ramped blade front sight and a two-leaf (one standing, one folding) rear sight on the matted solid rib, standard Merkel markings, 2002 dated German proofs, and chambers with a single extractor. The barrels are paired with a bolstered, sideclipped, and scalloped boxlock action which displays light scroll engraving and features bushed firing pins, cocking indicators, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety. The rifle is fitted with a contrasting nicely figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a pistol grip stock with black grip cap, raised cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and black buttplate. Included is an aluminum takedown case with snap caps, a leather sling, and cleaning tools. Length of pull 14 5/16 inches. Weight 11 lbs.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 5,500 - 7,500

LOT 1535 Krieghoff Ultra Over/Under Double Rifle with Zeiss Scope and Case - Serial no. 97260, 270 Win cal., 22 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/silver nitride finish finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrel with ramped blade front sight, import mark on the underside, 1997 dated proofs, single extractor, and mounted with a Zeiss Varipoint VM 1.5-6x42 T* scope. Silver nitrided action with light scroll engraving with a game scene on either side and “KRIEGHOFF/ULTRA” on the underside. The left side scene displays a stag in a wooded scene, and the right side has a chamois in a rocky mountainous scene. Mounted in a straight grain multipoint checkered walnut forend and pistol grip stock with Bavarian cheekpiece and Pachmayr recoil pad. Includes a Krieghoff takedown case. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus blue finish and 97% original silver nitride finish with limited handling marks and some high edge wear on the action and crisp engraving. Wood is very ith some dings and scratches around the toe and some softened checkering. Mechanically excellent. Optics clear, reticle crisp. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500
LOT 1536 Factory “Ri. Pa.” Signed and Engraved Rizzini Model Express 90L Double Rifle - Serial no. 57794, 30-06 Springfield cal., 23 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with a Red fiber optic front and fixed notch rear sights, scope mount fillers absent, import mark under forend, 2005 dated Italian proofs, and chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are mated to a casehardened boxlock action featuring light engraving, “EXPRESS 90L” inlaid on the underside, a single trigger, and a tang mounted manual safety. The rifle is signed “Inc. Ri. Pa” on the triggerplate. The rifle is fitted with a nicely figured and checkered forend with engraved fittings and absent diamond on the underside and a pistol grip stock with a raised cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and a rubber recoil pad. Length of pull 14 5/8 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 3 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% plus original blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence, some high edge wear on the action, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
