Factory Engraved Hussey Ltd. Imperial Ejector Double Barrel Shotgun
with Case - Serial no. 14475, 12 gauge, 30 1/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish,
walnut stock. Manufactured circa 1904 according to information given on page 67 of Nigel Brown’s “British Gunmakers: Volume Three”. Built with blued steel barrels
featuring dual white bead sights on the smooth concave
solid rib which is signed “HUSSEY Ltd. 81, NEW BOND STREET.
LONDON.” along with a gold “2” and a flourish of scrollwork
at the breech, period London proofs, and chambers marked 1
1/4 oz. of shot (2 3/4 inch) with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened
sidelock actions with full coverage tight scroll engraving surrounding a mix of nitre blue and bright pins, nitre
blue bolts, a gold “2” on the toplever, “HUSSEY Ltd.” signed on either lockplate, and “IMPERIAL/EJECTOR” marked
on the underside. The gun features double triggers, gold centerline cocking indicators, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator.
The gun is mounted with a nicely contrasted and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and a gold “2” on the Anson button release and a straight grip stock with teardrop carved drop points, blank silver inscription oval, and a checkered bare butt. Included is a Thomas Ferney & Co. canvas and leather
takedown case with Hussey trade label. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at “12” (.729 inches) and measured .729/730 inches; choke
constriction .031/.031 inches; minimum wall thickness .024/.026 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 15 5/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 7 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as beautifully refurbished, retaining 99% blue and casehardened finishes, minor handling evidence, a few freckles of oxidation beneath the forend, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent.

Factory Engraved E. J. Churchill Sidelock Churchill Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 6057, 12 gauge, 27 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1940 per page 104 of Nigel Brown’s “British Gunmakers Volume One- London”. Built with blued steel barrels with a single steel bead on the raised matted solid rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and a light band of
leafy engraving at the breech. The casehardened sidelock action displays
masterfully executed English bouquet and scroll engraving making fantastic use of negative space, which
extends onto the blued toplever and triggerguard, with “E.J. Churchill” on both sides with “Field/Model” curved around a gold inlaid “XXV”. Fitted with double triggers, and automatic tang safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”.
Mounted in a nicely figured, beautifully contrasted multipoint forend with engraved fittings and Anson button release, and
straight grip stock with teardrop flats and checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bores nine inches from the breech both proofed at .729 inches and measured .738/.736 inches; choke constriction .007/.012 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.028 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at the comb; 1 15/16 inch drop at the heel; weight 6 lbs. 7 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% original blue finish with some light handling marks and some light spotting on the rib. The action displays attractive case colors in protected areas with most of the attractively aged varnish remaining, a couple light spots, and crisp engraving. Wood is also very fine with some dings and scratches and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,500 - 5,500

Double Barrel Shotgun
with Case - Serial no. 97981, 20 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured circa 1923 according to page 143 of Nigel Brown’s “British Gunmakers Volume Two: Birmingham, Scotland & the Regions”. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, “W &
C. SCOTT & SON. MAKERS.” and “55 VICTORIA STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.” marked on the right and left tubes respectively, wedges of scroll engraving at either breech, correct period Birmingham proofs on the flats, choke constrictions of .001/.027 inches, and chambers measured 2 3/4 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened boxlock action displaying extensive
scroll engraving surround maker signatures on either side and featuring bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and an Anson button release as well as a round knob pistol grip stock with silver inscription oval marked “DH” and a serrated bare butt. Included is an oak and leather takedown case with “D.H.” on the lid, a nickel oiler, and some cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 13 13/16 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 10 oz. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% original blue finish with some rubs and thinning, some case colors in the protected areas with the balance dark grey, nicely reapplied blue on the triggerguard/lower tang, some thinning of the varnish on the wood, and well-defined checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The case is good with broken strap and transit wear. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500
