Browning American Mallard Special Edition
Superposed Shotgun with Case and Box
- Serial no. 8G4PM00036, 12 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/French grey finish, walnut stock. Produced in
1980. Dual white bead sights on the vented rib, 2 3/4” chambers with chokes marked “**”/”*” (modified/full), and
standard markings on the sides of the upper barrel. The French grey action has over 97% coverage floral scroll
engraving with matte backed scrollwork on all sides. Gold inlaid borders and the following scenes with raised
gold ducks: a pair of mallards in flight over a wetland on the right, two mallards landing on the left, a close up of
the mallard head on the trigger guard, and one taking off and one in flight on the underside, above and below an inlaid
banner reading “AMERICAN MALLARD ANAS PLATYRHYNCHOS/036 of 500”. Extra fancy checkered walnut pistol grip stock with
semi-beavertail forearm, superb grain and a skip-line checkered bare butt. Includes the original box and hardwood presentation
case with shipping box. This gun is collector serialized with the following three lots. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech 0.728/0.726
inches; choke constriction 0.025/0.038 inches; minimum wall thickness 0.035/0.034 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 99% plus original blue and 90% original French grey finish, with handling marks, spotting/pitting on the action, and overall crisp engraving. Stock and forend
are excellent with a few light dings and scratches, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good and the case is excellent.

Browning American Pintail Limited Edition
Superposed Shotgun with Case and Box - Serial no. 8H4PZ00036, 12 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/
French grey finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1983. Dual white bead sights on the matte vent rib barrels
with standard markings, chokes marked “**”/”*” (modified/full), and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic
ejectors. French grey action with single gold washed trigger and sliding tang safety/selector switch. The action
is fully engraved with flowing, leafy scroll patterns surrounding brilliantly gold inlaid scenes of North American
pintail ducks, showing two on the left, two on the right, two on the underside, and a bust on the triggergurad. The
underside is inscribed and gold inlaid with “AMERICAN PINTAIL ANAS ACUTA/036 of 500”. The action is signed “J.BAERTEN”
at the rear of both sides. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered deluxe walnut forend with engraved fittings and round knob pistol grip stock with skip-line checkered bare butt.
