Rare First Year Production Two Digit Serial Number 55 Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Carbine
- Serial no. 55, 30-06 cal., 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1936, the first year of Model 70
production. The barrel is fitted with a ramped, beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sights. The barrel is marked with the
model and caliber markings on the left, and the Winchester address on the right. “WP” proofs are stamped on the left of the chamber and
receiver. The early cloverleaf tang receiver properly is drilled and tapped on the ring and left side of the clip slotted bridge and marked with the Winchester
trademark on the left and serial number on the right of the receiver ring. Mounted in a multipoint checkered straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with sling loops and
checkered blued steel buttplate.
CONDITION: Very fine as period refinished, retaining 97% blue finish with limited handling marks, some pitting under the finish, and some spots of plum coloration. The stock is fine
as re-varnished with some dings and scratches, overall crisp checkering, and a crack off the upper tang. Mechanically excellent. This is your chance to add a first year production, two

Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Bolt Action
Rifle with Box - Serial no. 544817, 243 Win cal., 22 inch
round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1962.
The barrel is fitted with a ramped, hooded, beaded blade
front sight and single leaf folding rear sights. The left side of
the barrel is marked with the Winchester address and model
and caliber markings. “WP” proofs are stamped on the left
of the chamber and receiver. The straight tang receiver is
drilled and tapped and is marked with the Winchester trademark
on the left and serial number on the right of the receiver ring.
Mounted in a multi-point checkered straight grain walnut pistol
grip stock with sling loops and checkered plastic buttplate.
Includes original box.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue
finish with limited handling marks. Stock is also excellent with some dings and scratches and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

a ramped, beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sights. The barrel is marked with the model and caliber markings on the
left, and the Winchester address on the right. “WP” proofs are stamped on the left of the chamber and receiver. The early cloverleaf tang receiver
properly is drilled and tapped on the ring and left side
of the clip slotted bridge and marked with the Winchester trademark on the left and serial number on
the right of the receiver ring. Mounted in a multipoint checkered straight grain walnut pistol grip stock
with contrasting forend, hard rubber grip cap, sling loops and checkered blued steel buttplate. Includes
leather sling.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% plus original blue finish with some light handling marks
concentrated near the muzzle. The sock is very fine with scattered dings and scratches, and crisp
checkering. Mechanically excellent.
