Winchester Model 21 Trap Grade Double Barrel Skeet Marked Shotgun Two Barrel
Set with Factory Letter - Serial no. 10388, 12 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Built with
blued Winchester Proof Steel barrels with a dual bead sights on the matted flat vent rib, standard barrel markings, chokes marked
“WS-1”/”WS-2”, and chambers marked 2
3/4 inches with automatic ejectors. The
barrels are fitted to a blued action which
is unadorned aside from “TRAP/SKEET” marked on the triggerplate around the screw and features a single selective trigger and a tang
mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-panel
checkered beavertail forend and straight grip stock with an added Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. Included is a
second matching numbered set of 28 inch 12 gauge barrels with chambers marked 2 3/4 inches and chokes marked
“IMP.-MOD.”/”FULL”. Also included is a factory letter which confirms the current trap finish, trap comb width, trap
wood grade, and stock drops when it was completed for stock at the end of 1936, as well as confirming the gun
was sent back to have the second barrel set added in July, 1952. Barrel measurements for the extra set (R/L): bore
diameter nine inches from the breech .728/.729 inches; choke constriction .014/.031 inches; minimum wall thickness
.034/.035 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .729/.729 inches;
choke constriction .004(jug)/.011 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.035 inches; 1 11/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2
inch drop at heel; 13 5/8 inch length of pull; slight cast-off; weight 7 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% refinished blue finish with much of the loss on the underside of the action, a
filler screw and some discoloration on the top rib visible under the vent rib, and some mild handling evidence. The
wood is also very fine with a few minor scratches and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The extra barrel set is very fine.

vent rib which is marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”, 3
inch wedges of floral scroll engraving at either breech, chokes
marked “IMP CYL”/”MOD”, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels
are fitted to a blued boxlock action which displays beautiful Grand American pattern
engraving consisting of near full coverage floral scrollwork surrounding four gold inlaid
game scenes. The left side shows a setter in a field scene, the right has a pointer in a field scene, the underside shows a pair of pheasants in a field scene, and a bust of a dog on the triggerguard all rendered in highly detailed gold
inlay. The gun features a gold plated single selective trigger, jeweled flats and watertable, and tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and fancy 21-B pattern fleur-de-lis checkered beavertail
forend with engraved fittings, rotary latch release, and ebony tip inlay as well as a pistol grip stock with matching fleur-de-lis checkering and engraved, gold inlaid “GRAND/AMERICAN” grip cap, blank gold inscription oval, and
checkered bare butt. Included is a second matching set of 28 inch barrels with matching engraving and its own beavertail forend and featuring 2 3/4 inch chambers and chokes marked “WS-1”/”WS-2”. Also included is a fine wood
and leather Huey takedown case that houses the entire set, with “R.H.S.” on the lid, cleaning tools, snap caps, and oiler. Barrel measurements for the extra barrel set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .663/.663 inches;
choke constriction .039/.041 inches; minimum wall thickness .033/.036 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .663/.662 inches; choke constriction .040/.041 inches; minimum wall

CONDITION: Very fine as professionally upgraded to the current configuration, retaining 99% blue and gold finishes with minor handling evidence, some plum coloration, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
Mechanically excellent. The extra barrel set is very fine with a tiny speckle of spotting. The case is excellent.
