Michael W. Dubber Master Engraved “Pattern Gun” Ruger New Vaquero Revolver with Certificate
of Authenticity, Holster, and Case - Serial no. 511-28757, 45 Long Colt cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., stainless
steel finish, rosewood grips. Originally manufactured in 2012, this Ruger New Vaquero was subsequently
beautifully embellished by FEGA and Colt Master Engraver Michael W. Dubber. He has previously served as president of FEGA,
as well as on the board of directors, and has won the Colt Collectors Association’s Howard Dove Award for best engraved Colt at
their regional shows seven times. The included certificate of authenticity with this revolver (incorrectly lists the serial number as “11-
2828757”) states that this gun was originally engraved by Dubber as the “pattern gun” for an engraving transfers business started by
Dubber and Les Schowe. It goes on to state that the patterns from this gun were then transferred to a master plate, which was then vectored
by Schowe. A resin casting of this master plate is included with the revolver. The engraving itself features 85% coverage floral scroll engraving with
punchdot backgrounds in the Colt factory style. The top of the barrel is marked for Dubber and Schowe, and “LeS” is marked on the ejector rod housing, with the
revolver otherwise having standard markings and features. It is fitted with a pair of checkered rosewood grips by Eagle Gunfighter. Includes the previously mentioned
resin master plate, a copy of the Dubber/Schowe transfer system, a Triple K leather holster, and the original case.
CONDITION: Excellent as masterfully embellished by Michael W. Dubber, with the metal remaining
almost entirely bright, only the slightest handling evidence, and crisp engraving overall. The grips are
also excellent with only the slightest
handling marks and crisp checkering.
Mechanically excellent. A beautiful
work of art from Michael Dubber!
