Desirable Framed “The End of a Good Day” Du Pont Powder Co. Advertisement
by Famous Illustrator Robert Robinson - An attractive 1911 DuPont Powder Co.
advertisement poster containing a painting of a young sportsman, dressed in fall weather
sporting cloths with his pipe handling in his mount, his side-by-side scatter gun tucked
up under his right arm, a cluster of shot game birds in his left hand, and his loyal hunting
companion trotting along closely behind. A title line underneath the scene reads “THE
END OF A GOOD DAY”, with the artist’s signature “RobK Robinson./09. on the right of the
scene and “Copyright, 1910.by E. I. du Pont de Nemours Powder Co.” to the left. Robert
K. Robinson (1886-1952) was a famous illustrator of the early 20th century and was well
regarded for his work at the Saturday Evening Post. Professionally framed in an attractive
dark finished hardwood frame measuring 37 inches tall and 26 1/4 inches wide.
CONDITION: Fine, with some light edge fraying and staining, and a few minor crease
marks, but otherwise clear details and vivid autumn themed coloring.
The frame is excellent.
