Rare Factory Engraved L. C. Smith/Hunter Arms Eagle Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no.
RE46397, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1922
as one of just 580 Eagle Grade guns built across all gauges and barrel lengths, according to page 102 of William Brophy’s “L. C.
Smith Shotguns”, making this quite a rare gun. Built with Nitro steel barrels featuring dual bead sights on the matted concave solid rib
which has a single gold band near the breech, “L. C. SMITH Eagle GRADE” and “HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. M’F’R’S. FULTON. NY, U.S.A.” marked on the right and left barrels respectively, light engraving
at the breech end, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The casehardened sidelock action displays floral scroll engraving
surrounding “L. C. Smith” signatures on either lockplate as well as a pheasant in flight on the left lockplate, a mallard in flight on the right
lockplate, and an eagle on the top lever all in raised relief. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted safety. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured
and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved forend iron, rotary latch release, and ebony tip inlay as well as a straight grip stock with an Jostam Anti-
Flinch recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .722/.721 inches; choke constriction .026/.028 inches; minimum
wall thickness .030/.031 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 1 15/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs.
CONDITION: Very fine as refurbished, retaining 99% blue and casehardened finishes with some softening of the markings, minor handling evidence, some
subsurface pitting on the triggerguard, some tiny chips at the stock/tang inlets, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The recoil pad is hardened and
deteriorating. Mechanically excellent.

L.C. Smith/Hunter Arms Co. 16 Gauge Field Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. FW139774, 16 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1934 with blued Armor Steel barrels featuring a single brass bead sight on the matted solid rib, “L.C. SMITH Field GRADE” and
“HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. M.F.R.S. FULTON. N.Y., U.S.A.” marked on the right and left tubes respectively, choke constrictions of (R/L) .013/.028 inches, and chambers measured 2 9/16
inches with a single extractor. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened action which is unadorned aside from “L. C. SMITH” which is marked on either lockplate and features double triggers and a
tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a plain figured and multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with a black hard rubber grip cap and buttplate. Stock measurements: 1
3/4 inch drop at comb; 2 3/4 inch drop at heel; 13 15/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% original blue finish, 80% plus original case colors with some areas of muting, minor handling evidence, some varnish wear on the high points, and crisp checkering on the
stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.

Stunning and Scarce L. C. Smith/Hunter Arms Co. .410 Bore Field Grade Double Barrel
Shotgun - Serial no. FW190102, 410 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock.
Manufactured in 1940 as one of only 2,375 Field Grades built as a .410 bore according to page 177 of
William Brophy’s “L. C. Smith Shotguns”. The gun was built with blued Armor Steel barrels featuring dual bead
sights on the matted solid rib, “L.C. SMITH Field GRADE” and “HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. M.F.R.S. FULTON. N.Y., U.S.A.” marked
on the right and left tubes respectively, and chambers measured 3 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened
sidelock action which is unadorned aside from “L. C. SMITH” marked on either lockplate. The gun features double triggers and an automatic
tang mounted safety. The gun is mounted with a plainly figured and multi-point checkered
splinter forend and pistol grip stock with a black hard rubber grip cap and buttplate. Barrel
and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .411/.410 inches;
choke constriction .014/.029 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 1 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and vivid casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence, a few tiny freckles of
spotting, some thinning in the varnish on the stock, and crisp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. A great chance to own
a gun absent from many collections!

Scarce Factory Engraved Parker Brothers 16 Gauge DHE Grade Double Barrel
Shotgun - Serial no. 136577, 16 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut
stock. Manufactured in 1906 as one of just 568 manufactured in this configuration per the chart on page 291 of
“The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote. The grade, gauge, barrel length, and ejectors below
are confirmed on page 393 of “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Built with blued steel barrels
featuring a single bead sight on the matted flat solid rib which is marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CONN. TITANIC STEEL”,
light engraving at the breech, and chambers measured 2 5/8 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the size “1” casehardened boxlock
action which displays standard DH Grade engraving consisting of floral scrollwork surrounding a trio of game scenes depicting a setter in a field on the right, a
quartet of geese on the underside, and a pointer in a field on the left. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted
with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved forend iron as well as a pistol grip stock with carved flats, factory hard rubber
grip cap, “CJI” in the silver inscription oval, and an engraved skeleton buttplate around a checkered butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine
inches from the breech .665/.665 inches; choke constriction .031/.030 inches; minimum wall thickness .022/.024 inches; 1 11/16 inch drop at comb; 2 15/16 inch
drop at heel; 13 7/8 inch length of pull; slight cast-on; weight 6 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 90% original blue finish with most of the loss on the triggerguard and lower tang, 70% original case colors with some
muting, minor scattered spotting, light handling evidence, some dings and scratches on the wood, tiny crack in stock behind top tang, and crisp checkering on
the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
