Lightning Diana Grade Superposed
Shotgun with Box - Serial no. 47426V7,
20 gauge, 26 3/8 inch vent rib bbl.,
blue/French grey finish, walnut stock.
Manufactured in 1967. Built with blued
Special Steel barrels featuring a single nickel bead sight on the matted vent rib, single band of engraving
at the upper breech, chokes marked “**-”/”**” (improved cylinder/modified), and 3 inch chambers with
automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the French grey finished action which is engraved in the highly
attractive Diana Grade pattern with flowing scroll designs surrounding four game scenes depicting a flock of mallards in a marsh on the right, a nide of pheasants
in a wooded scene on the left, a pair of quail on the underside, and a pair of rabbits on the trigger guard all in fine detail with matted backgrounds creating contrast.
The engraving is signed “F.MARECHAL” on both sides below the scene. The gun features a single gold trigger and tang mounted manual safety/selector with gold “S”, “O”,
and “U” indicators. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved iron and a round knob semi-pistol grip short tang stock with a
Browning buttplate. Includes the original factory box. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .623/.624 inches; choke constriction
.006/.014 inches; minimum wall thickness .040/.043 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; slight cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 3 oz.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as factory refurbished, retaining 99% blue and French grey finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
Mechanically excellent. The box is very good.

on December 22, 1975.
Built with blued Special Steel barrels featuring a single steel bead sight on the matted vent rib,
standard Browning markings, single band of engraving at the upper breech, chokes marked “**-”/”**”
(improved cylinder/modified), and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are
fitted to the French grey finished action which displays attractive floral scroll engraving surrounding
four individual game scenes consisting of a Labrador retriever holding a mallard in its mouth in a
pond scene on the left, a pointer grasping a pheasant in a field on the right, a pair of bedded “lightning” quail on the underside, and a pair of pheasants on the trigger guard. The
engraving is signed “L.LAMBERT” on the right side of the action beneath the scene for FN engraver Lilly Lambert. The gun features a single gold trigger and tang mounted manual
safety/selector with gold inlaid “S”, “O”, and “U” indicators. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered Schnabel forend with engraved forend iron as well as a
straight hand long tang stock with Browning buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .544/.546 inches; choke constriction .004/.010
inches; minimum wall thickness .039/.035 inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 7/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish, 97% original French grey finish with a few small patches of discoloration on the action, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering
on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
