Exceptional Engraved Perugini & Visini
Boxlock Ejector Double Rifle/Shotgun Combination Set with Case - Serial no. 3278,
9.3 mmx74 R cal., 24 7/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/ grey finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with ramped beaded blade front sight, rear quarter rib with three leaf (one standing, two folding) rear sight
graduated from 50 to 100 with gold inlaid center lines and German style claw mount, light engraving near the breech section, and automatic ejectors. The grey finished scalloped, bolstered boxlock action displays exceptional scroll engraving interspersed with floral bouquets of flowers covering nearly the entire surface and extending to
the tangs, triggerguard, and the pierced toplever. The gun features double triggers, a rolled triggerguard, and tang mounted manual safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with gold inlaid Perugini & Visini logo, engraved fittings, and rotary lever release. The pistol grip stock is of the same wonderful quality with multi-point checkering, teardrop flats, engraved grey grip cap, gold inscription oval with three letter
monogram, raised cheekpiece, and red rubber recoil pad. Included is a second set of barrels chambered in 20 gauge and measuring 28 inches with a single steel bead sight on the matted solid rib and screw in chokes. Also included is a leather bound takedown case containing two 9.3x74R snap caps, two extra 20 gauge
chokes (full and extra full), scope ring for claw mount, and cleaning tools. Barrel and stock measurements with the 20 gauge barrels attached (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 15.7 mm (.618 inches) and both measured .619 inches; minimum wall thickness .036/.033 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at
comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 3/4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 11 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and grey finishes with minor handling evidence, a few small scratches on the stock, minor high edge wear on
the wood, slight chipping of the wood and proudness of the metal at the junction, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case and shotgun barrel set are both very fine. Mechanically excellent.
