The left lockplate shows a lion and a lioness on the hunt with the male taking down one of the two lesser kudu shown, the right lockplate depicts a standoff between a lioness and a pair of rhinoceros, and the underside has an elephant with its calf. The toplever has been transformed into a snarling big cat’s head, and the triggerguard has been skeletonized creating a floral scroll pattern. The left lockplate is signed “Aichholzer Ulm” below the lioness. The rifle features gold plated double triggers, bushed firing pins,
and a tang mounted manual safety switch with gold inlaid “SAFE”. Beautifully figured, exhibition quality walnut splinter forend with engraved and gold border inlaid fittings, Deeley latch style release, rosewood Schnabel tip insert, and deep floral carving. The pistol grip stock is of the same exceptional quality with the same deep floral carving which follows the lines of the stock, a rosewood grip cap, raised shadowline cheekpiece, and orange rubber recoil pad. Length of pull 14 15/16 inches. Weight 10 lbs 9 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue, grey, and gold finishes with only minimal handling evidence.
