Excellent Vietnam Era U.S. Marked Ithaca Model 37 Slide Action Riot Shotgun, “S” Prefix - Serial no. S23324, 12 gauge, 20 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in the 1960s, the “S” prefix Ithaca Model 37 shotguns were intended to supplement the U.S. government’s then-dwindling stockpile of World War II surplus riot and trench shotguns, which were in high demand in the jungles of Vietnam. Single brass bead sight, with “FULL” choke marking and 2 3/4 inch chamber. “P” stamps are present on top of the chamber and receiver, with matching serial number marked on the barrel and front of receiver, and “U.S.” marked on the right side of the receiver. Some of these shotguns are said to have been given to local police departments during the Vietnam protests and riots. “BPD” marked on the left rear of the receiver, and
“P3421” marked on the right rear of the receiver. Large “L91” carved and painted on the right of the buttstock. Fitted with a 16-groove forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with serrated plastic buttplate. 14 inch length of pull. Includes an olive drab green canvas sling. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% original matte gray parkerized finish with light cycling wear on the magazine tube and some light handling marks. Stock very fine with defined edges, some light scratches, some light nicks visible on the buttplate, carved and painted letters as mentioned above, and crisp grasping grooves in the forearm. World War II U.S. Inland M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine with M-8 Grenade Launcher and Dummy Grenade - Serial no. 3475794, 30 Carbine cal., 18 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1944. “N” marked blade front sight, “PI” marked adjustable peep rear sight, “8-44” dated Inland Division barrel,
Type II barrel band, “INLAND” milled trigger housing, “WI” hammer, unmarked push button safety, “PI” slide, “IO” round bolt and “IS” magazine. “IO” four-rivet hand guard, “crossed cannons” cartouche on the right of the buttstock and “IO” marked inside the sling cutout. Includes a clamp-on M-8 grenade launcher, reproduction dummy M1A2 training grenade adapter (does not have an opening for bullets to pass through), hollow dummy training grenade, olive drab green canvas sling, 1943 dated U.S. tan canvas double magazine pouch, and two extra 15-round magazines (both “KI” marked). CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% original parkerized finish with scattered areas of smooth brown patina and some light handling marks. 70% original blue finish remains on the bolt. Stock is very fine
with defined edges, some light to moderate scratches and dents, some small chips, glue visible around the edges of the heel plate, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent. Included accessories are very good to fine.

encircled “P” proof mark on the bottom of the pistol grip. The included telescopic sight has a plate on the right side marked “TELESCOPE/M84/SERIAL NO. 18475”. This rifle was probably overhauled and assembled to M1D configuration at an Army Ordnance Depot in the 1960s. The M1D was the standard Army sniper rifle from the mid-1950s until the late 1960s. M1D rifles remained in the inventories of some Army National Guard units and Special Forces groups until the early 1990s. Includes an olive drab green canvas sling and “MRT/1 52” leather cheek pad. CONDITION: Very fine as arsenal converted to M1D configuration, retains 90% arsenal parkerized finish with some light edge wear and some scattered small patches of very light pitting. The refurbished stock is fine as lightly sanded and re-oiled with some scattered light scratches and a nice mostly visible cartouche. Mechanically excellent. Scope is very good, retains 60% original blue finish with smooth brown patina on the balance, and clear optics. Included cheek piece is fine. Provenance: The Steven Preston Military Collection. LOT 438 Scarce U.S. Remington Model 11 Aerial Training Semi-Automatic Shotgun - Serial no. 708946, 12 gauge, 27 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. This shotgun was designed for use by the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II for skeet shooting in order to train aerial gunners in the art of leading a flying target. “U.S.” and flaming bomb proof marked on the barrel and left of the receiver, and “MILITARY FINISH” marked on the left of the receiver. Naval anchor stamped on the left of the trigger guard. Crossed Ordnance cannons and “FJA”
(Frank J. Atwood) inspection cartouche marked on the left of the buttstock. It is complete with the original Cutts compensator and Lyman choke on the barrel, single nickel bead front sight
and 2 3/4 inch chamber. The barrel is correctly without choke markings. Length of pull is 14 inches.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 90% plus original blue finish with scattered light scratches, some light wear around the compensator, and sharp markings in the metal. Wood is also excellent with defined edges, some light scratches and handling marks, and crisp inspection stamps. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Steven Preston Military Collection. LOT 439 World War II U.S. Standard Products M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine - Serial no. 1996514, 30 Carbine cal., 18 inch round bbl., blue/parkerized finish, walnut stock. “S” marked blade front sight and “S” marked two-leaf rear sight, with an Underwood “7-43” barrel, Type I barrel band, “STANDARD/PRODUCTS” heel plate, “4/S” blued finish flat top bolt, “36” operating rod, “S” milled trigger guard, “N” hammer, unmarked push button safety, “SW” magazine catch, and “IA” magazine. Two- rivet “RSG” marked handguard, smooth low wood stock with “RSG” marked in the sling inlet, oval oiler cut, and a checkered buttplate. Includes an olive drab green canvas sling. CONDITION: Fine, retains 85% original parkerized finish on the receiver with sharp markings, 60% partially refinished blue finish on the bolt, 70% refinished blue finish on the barrel with partially faded markings, and 95% original blue finish on the magazine. Stock is also fine as sanded and re-oiled with some light scratches and slightly undersized around the trigger guard. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Steven Preston Military Collection. U.S. Springfield M1D Garand Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle with M84 Scope - Serial no. 1968611, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. This Springfield Armory M1 Garand rifle was manufactured in September 1943 and subsequently arsenal modified to M1D configuration. The rifle is fitted with a standard blued M84 2.2 power telescopic sight with post and cross-wire cross-hairs, sliding sun shield, and rubber eyepiece. The stock is fitted with a russet leather cheek-piece stamped “MRT/1 52” on the right side. The rifle has the special M1D barrel with scope mounting block and marked “S-A-9-52” on the right of the chamber. “SA” marked trigger housing, “-12SA” bolt, “SA” operating rod, and T105 rear sight.
