Attractive Cased Factory Engraved Colt New Line .22 Caliber Revolver with Rare “Little Duke 1885” Incised Pearl Grips - Serial no. 39112, 22 RF cal., 2 1/4 inch flat sided bbl., nickel/gold finish,
pearl grips. Manufactured in 1876, this revolver features factory scroll engraving on the sides of the frame, a geometric design on the top of the barrel, zig-zag and dot design on the sides of the barrel and side plate, a feather design on the top strap, floral design on top of the
back strap and decorative zig-zag line designs on the cylinder. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address, the bottom of the barrel is marked with the patent date and the serial number is marked on the butt with the partial serial number “112” on the underside of the barrel. The left frame side is marked “22 CAL”, which is partially covered by the engraving. The revolver is nickel plated with a gold washed cylinder and cylinder pin and is fitted with smooth pearl grips which are scrimshawed “Little Duke/1885” on the left panel. Complete with
a leatherette case with silver initial plaque on the lid inscribed “ADW”, purple satin lining on the inside of the lid and purple velvet in the case. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. The revolver retains 95% original nickel finish. There are a few minor dings on the butt. The cylinder retains 70% original gold wash finish. The grips are excellent. The inscription appears to be of the period and remains clear. The markings and engraving are crisp. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some corner wear, a couple of minor tears and some moderate contact wear and soiling of the lining. A very attractive and desirable cased factory engraved Colt New Line revolver.
