Production Silver
Plated Colt New Line .22 Spur Trigger
Pocket Revolver - Serial no. 3982, 22 RF cal., 2 1/4 inch
slab sided bbl., blue/silver finish, rosewood grips. 16,000
First Model New Line .22 revolvers were manufactured
in the 1870s with short fluted cylinders and visible cylinder stop slots.
This example has the two-line address on top of the barrel with crosses
at each end, and the matching serial number on the butt and inside each
grip panel. This scarce early production example lacks the etched panel on
the left side of the barrel and the frame is silver plated.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish, 40% of the original silver, and 60% of the original nitre blue with the balances having thinned to either a smooth grey patina or attractive antique brass on the frame. The grips are also very fine with some scattered light handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.

Cased London Agency Shipped Colt Open Top Pocket Spur Trigger Ejector Revolver with Scarce Long Barrel - Serial no. 1370, 22 RF cal., 3 inch round bbl., blue/silver finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured in 1871 with standard features. The top of the barrel has the two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses, British
proofs on the bottom of the
barrel and cylinder, double/partial stamped Rampant Colt on the left of the frame, and matching numbers on the barrel, butt, and faintly
inside each grip panel. Includes a hardwood case with Colt London Agency interior label, cleaning rod, key, and an Eley labelled box of “ICI” headstamped .22 Short cartridges. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus of the original blue finish, the balance thinning to a smooth grey patina, and 75% plus of the original silver finish, the balance showing an attractive antique brass. The grips are also very fine with a few minor handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically fine. The case is very good with some mild handling/storage wear.

Colt Etched Panel New Line .41 Spur Trigger
Revolver with Attractive Pearl Grips - Serial no. 10666, 41 RF
cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, pearl grips. Manufactured in 1879,
the barrel is marked with the standard two-line address on top, “COLT NEW
41” in an etched panel on the left, and the patent dates on the bottom. The
matching serial number is on the left of the grip frame and bottom of the barrel,
and the left of the frame is marked “41 CAL”. It has standard features and is fitted with a pair of smooth pearl grips.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the “frosted” original nickel finish with some scattered light flaking and spotting, and a crisp etched
panel. The grips are also very fine with a small chip
visible on the right forward panel and a few scattered
light handling marks on the balance.
Mechanically excellent.

hardwood grips. Manufactured
1882-1886, with only
approximately 4,000 produced,
these revolvers are sometimes
referred to as the “cop and thug”
model due to the grips they were
often fitted with, which portrayed
a cop wrangling a criminal. This
pair are consecutively serialized
and both have the two-line Colt
Pall Mall, London address on the
top barrel flat, and faint etched
“NEW POLICE 38” panels on the
left (“B” extremely faint). Both
revolvers have British proofs on the bottom of the barrels and on the cylinders. They have standard features as well as having been fitted with smooth hardwood grips. Includes a hardwood case that has been fitted for both revolvers and has a Cogswell & Harrison retailer label inside the lid. Also included is an oiler, cleaning rod, key,
and ten .380 Eley cartridges.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 75% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, some scattered light dings, and a faint
but visible etched panel. The grips are also fine with some minor dings scattered throughout. The cylinder fails to rotate upon cocking, otherwise mechanically functions. B) Colt New Police Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 16533, 38 CF cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. See “A”.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 75% plus of the period, retailer applied, blue finish with the balance having thinned to a grey or brown patina and a patch of minor pitting on the upper right of the barrel near the muzzle. The grips are also fine with some minor dings scattered throughout and some crazing of the varnish. Mechanically functions, but the cylinder does not rotate. The case is fine with some minor
handling/storage marks throughout.
