Texas Shipped Colt Second Generation Single Action Army Revolver with Original Black Box and Factory Letter - Serial no. 2770SA, 45 LC cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. The included factory letter lists this revolver as having a 5 1/2 inch barrel chambered in .45 caliber with blue finish and grips not listed when shipped to The Perry Shankle Company in San Antonio, Texas, on April 17, 1956. Matching serial numbers are found on the frame, triggerguard, backstrap, and grip panels (sans suffix). Matching assembly number “868” found on the loading gate and front cylinder face. Includes original Colt black box.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish and case colors with limited handling marks, faint cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with a split lid corner.

Colt Second Generation Single Action Army Revolver with Black Box and Factory Letter - Serial no. 22184SA, 44 special cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. The included factor letter lists this revolver as being manufactured on January 26, 1959, with a 5 1/2 inch barrel chambered in .44 caliber with blue finish when shipped to The Gopher Shooter’s Supply on March 20, 1959. Matching serial numbers are found on the frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and front cylinder face as well as having partial serial numbers “184” on the grip panels. The assembly number “73” is on the loading gate. Includes an unnumbered correct Colt black box. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish and case colors with limited handling marks, faint cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with storage and handling marks and a split lid corner.

Matching serial number on frame, both grip panels (“822”), trigger guard and backstrap. Matching assembly number on loading gate and back of frame. Includes the original Colt black box and a copy of Don Wilkerson’s “Colt Single-Action Revolver Handbook 1955-1975”. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish and case colors with limited handling marks and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine with most of the paper hinge complete. Provenance: The Don and Carol Wilkerson Collection.
