Factory Engraved Colt Third Generation Single
Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter -
Serial no. SA08712, 45 Colt cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, smooth grips.
The included factory letter (copy) lists this revolver
as having a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .45 caliber with nickel
finish, stocks not listed, and class “C” engraving
when shipped to Morris & Dickson Company Ltd.
Sports South Inc. in Shreveport, Louisiana, on July
17, 1979. The letter further remarks that the revolver
was returned to Colt and shipped to Interstate
Distributing Company in Little Rock, Arkansas, on
March 12, 1980. The front strap is marked “COLT/ENG”
beneath the grips. Import marked on underside of barrel.
Includes a Colt custom shop case as well as a pair of walnut grips.
CONDITION: Excellent overall as engraved, retaining 99% plus original nickel finish with limited handling marks, fine traces of a cylinder drag line, and crisp engraving. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine.

round bbl., nickel finish, original
grips. Manufactured in 1986 featuring
the four major styles of Colt engraving
and smooth grips marked with “R. Henshaw 1831/L. Nimschke 1850-1900/C. Helfricht 1871-1921/Contemporary” on the left and fitted with silver Rampant Colt “Colt/150” medallions. Import marked on underside of barrel. The revolver displays American scroll and punch dot engraving of slightly different styles used throughout Colt’s long history. A Rampant Colt
motif with “Colt/150” is on the top of the back strap, and “Colt Engraving Sampler” is along the back strap.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original nickel finish with limited handling marks and slight traces of a cylinder drag line. Mechanically excellent.
