Cogswell & Harrison London Retailer Cased and Marked Colt New House .38 Revolver - Serial no. 19028, 38 CF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, rosewood grips. Exceedingly rare in blue finish, this revolver was manufactured in 1884. Only about 4,000 of them were reportedly made. It features the two-line Colt Hartford address on top of the barrel, London “crown/
V” and “crown/ GP” proofs on the barrel underside and
repeated on the cylinder behind the flutes, and topstrap
inscribed “COGSWELL & HARRISON/226. STRAND
LONDON”. An “A” is stamped on the left side of the frame
below the cylinder. Includes a period partitioned case
with a Cogswell & Harrison paper label on the interior of
the lid and containg an oiler, cleaning rod, and screwdriver.
CONDITION: Very fine with 85% bright retailer applied blue finish, showing
a mixed brown and gray patina around the high edges, along with some
scattered handling marks and spotting. Grips are period revarnished, with
some loss around the butt and mild pressure dents. Mechanically excellent. The case is also very fine with minor handling/storage marks and clear label.

F.T. Baker London Retailer Inscribed and Cased Colt
Etched Panel New Line .41 Spur Trigger Revolver -
Serial no. 3803, 41 CF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, hardwood grips. Manufactured in
1877. The top of the barrel has the two-line Colt Hartford
address, the left side of the barrel has the desirable
etched panel marked “COLT NEW 41”, and the bottom is
numbered “3801”. The rear edge of the cylinder has the
retailer inscription “F.T.Baker. 88. Fleet St. London”. There
are London proof marks on the underside of the barrel
and each cylinder flute. The serial number is marked on
the left side of the grip frame and inside each grip. The
left side of the frame is marked “41CAL C” for centerfire and with “C” and a Rampant Colt.
It is fitted with a pair of smooth grips. Includes a hardwood case with Cogswell & Harrison
interior label, oiler, key, screwdriver, and cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% of the original blue finish and 80% plus of the vibrant original case colors with the balance having thinned to a smooth brown or grey patina and a crisp etched panel. The grips are fine with numerous minor dings and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some scattered minor handling/storage marks.

Cased London Agency Shipped Colt Second Model Single Shot Derringer - Serial no. 9265, 41 RF cal., 2
1/2 inch irregular bbl., blue/silver finish, walnut grips. Manufactured from 1870-1890 with factory engraved flourishes of floral scroll on both sides of the frame.
There are British proofs on the bottom of the barrel and matching serial numbers on the bottom of the barrel and butt. It is fitted with checkered grips that are both hand numbered to the gun on the inside. Includes an oak case with Colt London Agency interior label, a cleaning rod, and key.
CONDITION: Good, retains traces of the original blue
finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina and some scattered patches of light surface pitting. The grips are fine with some scattered light handling marks, reapplied varnish, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some minor

and Cased Colt Etched
Panel New Line .22 Spur Trigger
Revolver - Serial no. 29784, 22 RF cal.,
2 1/4 inch slab sided bbl., nickel finish,
hardwood grips. Manufactured in 1876
with the standard two-line address on top
of the barrel, “COLT NEW 22” on the left in
an etched panel, patent date on the bottom,
and serial number on the butt. The top of the
frame on either side of the sighting channel
has been retailer engraved with “COGSWELL
& HARRISON/226.STRAND.LONDON.”
There are London proofs on the barrel and
cylinder. It has standard features. Includes a
leatherette wrapped case with the interior of
the lining of the lid retailer marked with the
corresponding Cogswell & Harrison address
and eight .22 RF cartridges.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% of the
original nickel finish with some scattered light flaking and edge wear revealing either a smooth grey patina or attractively aged brass. The grips are fine with some minor dings scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some mild handling/storage wear.

Cogswell & Harrison London Retailer Inscribed Cased Pair of Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringers -A) Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 45649, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/nickel finish, rosewood grips. Manufacturing began in 1870 and continued until 1912. This early 20th century assembled pair are both of the Second Type featuring the sloping . Both have the standard italic Colt marking on top of the barrel and small British proofs on the bottom, with the serial numbers marked on the
left side of the grip frames. The backstraps
of both pistols have been inscribed with a
nearly identical Cogswell & Harrison address.
The grips on both are hand numbered on the inside of both panels to match their respective guns. Includes
a leather wrapped hard case with “FLORENCE ROOKE” marked on the lid and a Cogswell & Harrison label inside the lid, as well as a cleaning rod, key, and oiler.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 30% of the original
blue finish and 90% plus of the original nickel
finish with the balance having thinned to mostly
a smooth grey patina, primarily on the barrel.
The grips are also very good with a few scattered
minor dings and scuffs. The mainspring is weak
and loose, but otherwise mechanically fine. The
case is very good with some scattered minor
handling/storage marks. B) Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 1801, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/nickel finish, rosewood grips. See “A”.
CONDITION: Fair, retains half of the dull refinished blue and 75% original nickel finishes with the balance having thinned to either a bright grey patina or attractively aged brass. The grips are fine with some scattered minor dings and light wear. Mechanically excellent.
