Desirable Pair of Colt .22 Single Action Revolvers with Scarce Colt Salesman’s Case as Featured in “Scouts Peacemakers and New Frontiers in .22 Caliber” by Don Wilkerson -A) Colt Peacemaker .22 Single Action Revolver - Serial no. G10245, 22 LR cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, plastic grips. This pair of Colt .22 caliber revolvers are featured on the inside cover sleeve of the book “Scouts Peacemakers and New Frontiers in .22 Caliber” by Don Wilkerson, where they are listed by serial number and pictured along with a very interesting case which is also included in this lot. The case is leatherette wrapped and has very minimal markings, with each side of the case opening similar to a briefcase. The bottom of the case is marked with a Rampant Colt and “BOX MADE IN SWEDEN/EXPRESSLY FOR COLT’S SMALL ARMS DIVISION/HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT”. The inside of each lid of
the case is fitted with a muzzle peg and strap to secure one of these revolvers in each side, and each side of the lining in the center portion is marked “COLT”. This case was very clearly intended for use by a traveling salesman, who could quickly switch between showing off two models of Colt’s .22 revolvers. This particular Peacemaker was manufactured in 1970 and displays standard markings and features. Also includes a copy of the book “Scouts
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99% plus of the
original blue and casehardened finishes with only the slightest handling marks and a very faint cylinder drag line. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is exceptionally fine with a few very light handling marks on the exterior and a few minor wear spots on the interior lining. B) Colt New Frontier .22 Single Action Revolver - Serial no. G11087, 22 LR cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1971 with standard markings and features. Includes a copy of the book “Scouts Peacemakers and New Frontiers in .22 Caliber” by Don Wilkerson.
