magnum cal., 25 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin
finish, walnut stock. Blued steel chopperlump
barrels with a ramped beaded blade front sight,
raised rear quarter rib with a three position (one
standing, two folding) and a set of German claw
style scope mounts holding a Karl Kahles Helia S
1.1-4.5x20mm scope, 1987 dated Italian proofs, and
chambers equipped with ejectors. The coin finished
bolstered hand detachable sidelock action displays
outstanding Purdey style scroll and bouquet
engraving covering nearly the entire surface
extending to the toplever, both tangs, and the triggerguard. The underside of the action showcases the masterful work of renowned Italian Master Engraver Guiseppe Zacchi with a relief engraved charging bull elephant on the savanna. The piece is signed “ZACCHI” on the ground to the side of the elephants left front leg. The rifle features double triggers, a rolled right hand triggerguard, and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including
the rotary latch release, and pistol grip stock with engraved coin finished trapdoor grip cap (with a pair of extra firing pins), raised cheekpiece, and rubber recoil pad. Includes a leather bound takedown
case with factory interior label. Length of pull 14 1/2
inches. Weight (with scope) 10 lbs. 9 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue
and coin finishes with minor handling evidence. The
wood is very fine with a few dings and scratches
concentrated near the toe and sharp checkering.
The scope has clear optics with some bleeding to
the reticle. The case is very good.
