Hard Times Armory/Fabrique Nationale FN 308 Select Fire Battle Rifle, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun - Serial no. S1596903, 308 cal., 18 inch round bbl., matte black finish, metal stock. Originally manufactured in Belgium as a semi-automatic rifle, this FN 308 has been upgraded to select fire configuration by Hard Times Armory of Smyrna, Georgia, making it a close copy of the Cold War signature “Right Arm of the Free World”. The chef modification was the addition of a pocket in the receiver to accommodate a safety sear, which is similar (but not identical) to the sear pocket seen on the select fire military FAL and the “G-Series” commercial FAL; the pocket is not externally visible with the trigger housing installed. The trigger and the bolt assembly are properly configured, with a three-position “A”/”R”/”S” selector and a matching numbered bolt and bolt carrier with proper geometry to engage the safety sear. Both the Gun South and Howco markings are present on the right side of the receiver, with the caliber on the left. Adjustable post front and peep rear sights, with an internally threaded flash hider, adjustable gas system, triangular forearm, smooth pistol grip, and a side folding metal buttstock. Two extra magazines are included.
CONDITION: Very fine as upgraded to full auto, with 95% of the matte black finish, showing mild cycling and handling wear overall, with a particularly
large concentration around the ejector port. The furniture is in equal condition. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
Estimate: 18,000 - 27,500
