Desirable Eley Military and Sporting Cartridge Board - Similar to cartridge boards made by many American ammunition manufacturers, advertisements such as this piece would have been a common and prominent display in sporting goods stores in the 19th and 20th centuries. The frame measures 31 5/8 x 25 5/8 inches. The display includes a variety of calibers of military and sporting rifle and pistol cartridges, shot shells, primers, and caps. The cartridges run from tiny .22 shorts up to the .475 No. 2 Nitro and the Eley Ammunition logo is proudly displayed at the center. This would be excellent for displaying as part of a collection of fine British firearms. CONDITION: Very fine overall, the background matting showing some minor wrinkling near
the top and bottom, and some light age fading. All the cartridges appear to be present with many showing extensive verdigris on the brass components. The frame is fine with some mild handling/storage wear. An attractive piece that would look fantastic in a gun room along with a collection of British firearms!
