Blued steel barrels with a small beaded blade front sight, a two folding leaf rear sight on the matted rear quarter rib, “HOLLAND & HOLLAND 98. NEW BOND STREET, LONDON.” and “’PARADOX’ FOSBERY PATENT” marked on the right and left barrels respectively, chambers proofed at 1 1/8 oz. (2 1/2 inches) with automatic ejectors, and London nitro proofmarks. The casehardened sidelock action displays light border engraving with flourishes on the pivot pin, Holland & Holland signatures on both lockplates, and “ROYAL/HAMMERLESS/EJECTOR” marked on the underside. The gun features double triggers, gold centerline cocking indicators, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold
inlaid “SAFE” marking. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with Anson button release and round knob pistol grip stock with blank inscription oval and red rubber recoil pad. This gun is pictured on page 106 of “Paradox: The Story of Col.
G. V. Fosbery, Holland & Holland, and the Paradox, Volume One” by David J. Baker and Roger E. Lake. Includes an oak and leather takedown case made by Ray Stark with H&H trade label and load data on the lid, nine rounds of H&H Paradox ammunition in a factory box, nickel oiler, and loading tools as well as a letter from Mr. Selleck noting his ownership of the gun and the quality of the refurbishment done by his friend Master Gunsmith Les Pittman. Length of pull 15 3/8 inches. Cast-off. Weight 7 lbs. 9 oz. CONDITION: Very fine as expertly restored by Master Gunsmith Les Pittman, retaining 99% blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.
