Attractive Documented Special Order Winchester Deluxe Style Model 1885 Low Wall Single Shot Rifle with Factory Letter - Serial no. 104705, 25-20 SS cal., 36 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1907, this is a very attractively configured Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall rifle. The included factory letter lists the rifle in .25-20 caliber with a No. 2 weight 36 inch octagon barrel, single set trigger, Lyman combination front and .32 WS rear sights, a spur finger lever, and a Swiss buttplate. It lists receipt at
the warehouse on 20 September 1907 and shipment from the warehouse the next day. Winchester
factory oval proofs are marked on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The standard two-line address and caliber markings are on the upper flat of the barrel. The three-line patent, model, and trademark information
are on the upper tang. The two-line patent dates and serial number are on the lower tang. It is fitted with a globe front sight, .32 W.S. smokeless elevation adjustable rear sight, and a tang mounted peep sight. It is mounted with an
H-pattern checkered Schnabel tip forearm with ebony insert and a checkered pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and a nickeled Swiss buttplate. The consignor notes that this rifle was restored by Turnbull Restoration Co. in 2016.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored overall by Turnbull Restoration Company, retains 99% of the blue finish and vibrant case colors with
a few scattered light handling marks. The replaced wood is also very fine with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Attractive Engraved Antique Winchester Model 1885 Deluxe Schuetzen Style Rifle - Serial no. 76281, 32-40 WCF cal., 30 inch heavy octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The receiver was originally manufactured in 1896, subsequently being masterfully custom embellished with near full coverage floral scroll engraving, and the rest of the rifle being upgraded to “deluxe Schuetzen” configuration. The No. 3 weight octagon barrel has the standard Winchester address
on the top flat and the caliber marking at the breech. The serial number is
on the lower tang. The lever is an elaborate scroll style with finger groove grips,
and it is fitted with double set triggers. It is fitted with a globe front sight, elevation adjustable notch rear sight, and a B.S.A. peep sight on the upper tang. It is mounted with a nicely figured, checkered Schnabel tip forearm with ebony insert and a mounting point for a palm rest, as well as a finely figured, checkered pistol grip stock with steel grip cap,
shadow line cheek piece, high comb, and a Swiss/Schuetzen style buttplate. CONDITION: Fine, the barrel retains 75% of the original blue finish with the balance a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. 90% plus of the period refinished vibrant case colors remain on the
lever and hammer, and the receiver retains 90% of the period refinished blue finish with crisp engraving. The wood is also fine with some scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500
