Documented Master Engraved and Gold Inlaid Heym Custom Ruger No. 1 Single Shot Falling Block Rifle with Zeiss Scope and Case - Serial no.
13118367, 7x65R cal., 23 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. The 1980 Gun Digest article “Heym Builds Me A Ruger” by John T. Amber discussed this custom build and master engraved rifle from
Fr. Wilhelm Heym, gunmakers of Munnerstadt, West Germany; the photographs and details all match, but no serial number was listed (article not included). The article stated the rifle was on display at the St. Louis Shot Show and Peter Bang of Heym noted that he could have sold the rifle for twice what he quoted Amber multiple times to various interested attendees. Built on a Ruger No. 1 action with added false side plates to maximize the engraving. This Eric Boessler master engraved and gold inlaid custom rifle features a tapered octagonal barrel with a ramped blade front and fixed rear notch sights. The left flat is marked with standard German commercial proofs and “FR. WILH. HEYM” just forward of the breech. The quarter rib is mounted with engraved and gold inlaid scope rings with a Zeiss DIAVARI-ZA1.5-6x42 scope.
