The set trigger action has been beautifully game scene engraved with deer on the left face and pronghorn antelope on the right. The animal scenes include highly detailed forest backgrounds. All animals are depicted in a high relief gold inlay. With gold inlaid wire borders and the remainder of the action including the lever and tangs filled with a tight highly detailed vine scroll with sunburst engraved screws. Mounted on a full length Mannlicher style stock with a pewter forend cap, fine multi-point checkering at the forearm and pistol grip, sling swivel studs, “JSA” inscription panel on forearm, engraved skeleton grip cap and a fully engraved skeleton buttplate on a checkered naked butt. Comes with a leather bound case, 55 rounds of 7x65R, decapping tool, 7x65R reloading dies, and primers.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as built, master engraved and gold inlaid by Heym, with 99% of the blue finish on the barrel and some scattered light handling marks. The action is beautifully engraved and painstakingly gold inlaid with high detail. Showing light handling marks on the lever and sides. The wood is excellent with sharp checkering, scattered light indentations and some nice figuring near the butt. Case is fine. Mechanically excellent. This is a wonderful example of Old World craftsmanship for the American hunting market.
