finish, synthetic stock. Originally manufactured in 1985 and later upgraded, information from a previous
owner described the weapon as having been originally supplied to an unnamed police department, where it “didn’t see much use, if any”. Short barreled 5.56mm automatic rifles have been seeing growing
popularity in the Armed Response/SWAT role, giving many of the size/maneuverability advantages of a pistol caliber submachine gun combined with increased range and hitting power. Hooded post front and four-position drum rear sight, with a Knight’s Armament Rail Adapter System installed in place of the forearm, birdcage flash hider, three position “0/1/25”
(safe/semi/full) hinge pin configured trigger group and a fixed buttstock. The magazine well bears the HK nomenclature and “IF(antler)” (1985) date code on the left side, with the West Germany/Chantilly, VA address on the right side. Included with the item are three Knight’s brand rail covers and a green canvas sling.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 98% of the original matte black finish, showing some mild scuffing and handling marks overall. The furniture is in equal condition. Mechanically excellent. “Sales Sample” Machine Gun - Serial no. 3086, 7.62 mm Nato cal., 20 inch round bbl., matte black finish, hardwood stock. Developed by Dieudonne Saive (of FN High Power fame) after World
War II, the Fusil Automatique Leger (Light Automatic Rifle) would find great popularity with NATO forces, earning the nickname “The Right Arm of the Free World”. Post front and elevation adjustable peep rear sights, with a ported flash hider, adjustable gas system, and
three-position “A”, “R” and “S” selector. The upper receiver bears the one line Herstal address, with no visible import markings. Fitted with a smooth plastic forearm and pistol grip, and a smooth hardwood buttstock.
CONDITION: Fine, with 85% of the original matte black finish, showing mild scuffing on the flash hider, charging handle and receiver, along with mild operating wear and handling marks. The bolt and bolt carrier are renumbered to match the receiver and trigger housing. The furniture is very good, with mild wear. Mechanically excellent. A0000733SA, 12 cal., 18 inch round bbl., matte grey finish, synthetic stock. Originally developed
in the 1980s, the USAS-12 takes many design cues from Maxwell Atchisson’s 1970s vintage Atchisson Assault Shotgun, being a gas-operated magazine fed shotgun patterned after the
M-16/AR-15 family of rifles, in particular arranging the firearm to put the barrel as close in line with the shoulder as possible to diminish felt recoil. First conceived as a military weapon,
Gilbert Equipment teamed up with Daewoo Precision Industries of South Korea to produce the USAS-12 as a full automatic shotgun for government contract sales, later formulating a
semi-automatic model for the North American commercial market. Arriving on American shores in the late 80s and early 90s, the semi-auto USAS-12 soon ran
face first into the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, who used the wording of the National Firearms Act to have the shotgun (along with the
cylinder-fed Armsel Striker-12, aka the Street Sweeper) declared a Destructive Device; while shotguns are traditionally given a pass on having a bore greater than
a half-inch, this only legally applies to items “generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting purposes”, with said recognition more or less entirely hinging on the ATF’s opinion on the matter. Elevation adjustable pin front and windage adjustable peep rear sights, with the former in a hooded post and the latter inside an integral carry handle, with a reversible cocking handle and ejector port cover, model and patent markings on the left side of the receiver and the Gilbert address and serial number on the right. The handguard is ribbed and ventilated, with an AR-style trigger group and pistol grip and a fixed plastic buttstock with a ribbed rubber buttplate. Included with the shotgun is a matching hand numbered shipping box, extra magazine and sling.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 98% of the original matte gray phosphate finish, showing some light wear and handling marks overall. The furniture is equally excellent. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This Destructive Device is a
