Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid Scheiring
Double Rifle in .375 H&H with Zeiss Scope and Case - Serial no. 74, 375 H& H cal., 25 5/8
inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin/gold finish, walnut stock. Blued Bohler Super Blitz steel barrels with a scroll engraved ramped blade front sight, rear quarter rib with flip up notch rear sight and scroll engraved scope mount and scope rings, which also show gold inlaid borders and hold a Zeiss Diavari-ZA 1.5-6x42mm scope, engraving down the rib, and engraving at either breech with a gold
inlaid line border. The barrels show standard Austrian proofs on the flats. The coin finished Franz Jaeger style tilting breech action displays absolutely
beautifully executed near full coverage English style rose and scroll engraving which extends to the tangs, triggerguard, and underlever which
shows a gold inlaid set of initials. The underside of the action is maker marked “Scheiring Jun./Ferlach”. All of the engraving is surrounded by gold
inlaid scrolling line borders which follow the outside edges as well as separating panels of rose and scroll. The gun features double triggers and a
tang mounted manual safety switch with gold inlaid “S”. Exceptionally figured, multi-point checkered forend with horn tip and matching engraved
and gold inlaid fittings as well as a pistol grip stock with horn grip cap, Bavarian style cheekpiece, and ventilated rubber recoil pad. Includes a leather bound takedown case containing a pair of snap caps and an Akah leather sling. Length of pull 14 1/2 inches. Weight 9 lbs 1 oz (scope included).
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original blue with some areas of thinning, 99% original coin and gold finishes, some minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very fine. Scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent.

    Model 140 Safari Double Rifle in .375 H&H with Case - Serial no. A375088, 375 H&H magnum cal., 23 1/2 inch solid rib
bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with ramped
blade front and two position (one standing, one folding) rear sights on the matted solid rib which is marked “Safari .375 H&H” and 2000 dated German proofs. The bright coin finished boxlock action displays floral scroll engraving surrounding a bull elephant scene on the left and a rhinoceros on the right. The engraving extends to the triggerguard, upper tang, and toplever. The gun features double triggers and a
tang mounted safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with black grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and black rubber recoil pad. Includes a leather bound takedown case. Length of pull 15 inches. Weight 10 lbs 8 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue and coin finishes with limited handling evidence. There are tiny cracks on either side at the rear of the
action, otherwise the wood is very fine with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. The case is fine with minor handling/storage marks. Mechanically excellent. 298 Estimate: 6,000 - 8,500
