Game Scene Engraved Perugini & Visini 20
Gauge Over/Under Shotgun - Serial no. 3079, 20
gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/brushed bright
finish, walnut stock. Perugini & Visini was founded
in 1968 Vincenzo Perugini and Darko Visini with
the goal of building rifles and shotguns for the
most discerning sportsmen. The gun is built with
blued steel monoblock barrels featuring a single
bead sight on the matted flat vent rib, “PERUGINI
& VISINI” and “NUVOLERA BRESCIA” on the left and
right of the upper chamber respectively, partial
side ribs, light engraving around the monoblock,
2006 dated Italian proof marks, and 2 3/4 inch
chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are
fitted to the brushed bright finished sideplated
action which displays highly attractive floral scroll
engraving surrounding highly detail game scenes.
The game scenes depict a cougar, tiger, leopard,
lion, and a pair of cheetahs on the left side, a fox, pheasants, a
pigeon, and roaring bear on the underside, a pair of quail on the
trigger guard, an eagle, pheasant, ram, bear, cougar, and others
on the right side, a stag on the top tang under the toplever, and
woodcock on the toplever. The gun is signed “C.Tomasoni” on
both sides and the underside for Italian Master Engraver Claudio
Tomasoni. The gun features a single trigger and a tang
mounted manual safety. The gun is fitted with a
highly attractive smooth Schnabel tip forend with
engraved brushed bright iron along with a gold
Perugini & Visini crest and a gold pigeon inlaid
directly into the underside along with a semi-
pistol grip stock with a checkered butt. Barrel and
stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine
inches from the breech proofed and measured
at 16.0 mm (.630 inches); choke constriction
.022/.029 inches; minimum wall thickness
.028/.029 inches; 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 1
3/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull;
weight 6 lbs. 9 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99%
original blue and brushed bright finishes, attractive plum hue
on the blue, minor handling evidence, and a few minor marks on
the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. A great chance to
own a wonderful Italian over/under!
