fixed oval blade front and
rounded notch rear sights,
niter blue small parts, a “C&S
45ACP” marked stainless barrel,
Cylinder & Slide address and
model designation marked on
the left side of the slide with
the caliber designation marked
on the right side, along with the
Cylinder & Slide address and
two-digit serial number marked on the right side of the frame. Fitted with a pair of smooth figured walnut grips and a
two-tone blued magazine marked with Cylinder & Slide logo on the base. Includes a tan Cylinder & Slide soft case, and
extra two-tone blued magazine, along with a matching numbered and June 25, 2018 dated Cylinder & Slide Inc. build
list for “FRANK BROWNELL”.
CONDITION: Excellent plus overall, retaining 99% plus original bright blue finish with some limited minor cycling
lines on the chamber hood, limited minor handling evidence, crisp markings, and attractive wood grain patterning.
Mechanically excellent.

Caspian Arms Ltd. Model 1911
Pistol, Serial Number “NRA 1911”, with
Case - Serial no. NRA1911, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch
round bbl., blue/black finish, hardwood grips. Manufactured c. early 21st century. Features fixed Tritium
insert blade front and Novak notch rear sights, a “BARSTO 45 ACP” marked stainless barrel, Caspian
name marked on the left of the slide with the NRA’s “AMERICAN/Rifleman” magazine name on the right
side and Caspian “C” logos behind the slide serrations, The Caspian Arms address and “NRA 1911” serial
number on the right of the frame, a checkered front strap, a RDIH ambidextrous magazine release,
extended beavertail grip safety and ambidextrous thumb safeties, along with skeletonized hammer
and trigger. Fitted with a pair of multi-point checkered hardwood grips with enameled Cylinder & Slide
medallion inserts. Includes a leather wrapped hardwood transport case with brass edges.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and black finishes with some limited minor
cycling wear to the barrel, limited minor handling evidence, along with well-defined markings,
crisp grip strap checkering and attractive grip grain patterning. Mechanically excellent. The case is
exceptionally fine.

Exceptional Limited Special Edition Smith & Wesson/Armament Systems and Procedures Inc. Model 439 “Quest for
Excellence” Semi-Automatic Pistol with Case and Accessories - Serial no. A787225, 9 mm Parabellum cal., 3 1/2 inch round
bbl., black finish, synthetic grips. Manufactured in 1982, and subsequently “re-manufactured” by Armament Systems & Procedures
Inc. into one of 100 “Quest for Excellence” limited special edition defensive carry pistols, with this example being number “065”.
Appearing in Maj. Geoffrey Boothroyd’s 1970 book “The Handgun”, the ASP modified pistol was later adopted by fictional legend
James Bond; though the films continued using the PPK, the novels of Fleming’s successor John Gardner had Bond take up the
ASP pistol in 1984. Features a one-piece “Guttersnipe” sighting plane attachment in place of the iron sights, a “9MM” marked
shortened barrel, two-line “THE QUEST FOR EXCELLENCE/065 OF ONE HUNDRED” marked on the left of the slide, Smith & Wesson
trade mark retained on the right of the frame with the serial number and model designation on the left side, the right-front
portion of the trigger guard trimmed, rounded edges, and a bobbed hammer. Fitted with a pair of clear Lexan grips and a black
magazine with witness windows on either side and an “ASP” marked polymer base. Includes a leather bound book pattern case
fitted for the pistol, with the title “THE QUEST FOR EXCELLENCE” on the cover, containing two extra magazines, a matching “065”
numbered holdout knife (7 inches overall, 3 inch double edged spear point blade, skeleton grip), an enamel-finished “Death
Watch” pin, an extra pair of horn grips with witness window cutouts, and Quest for Excellence-edition manual.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 95% plus black finish with some minor edge wear, a few light handling marks, and clear
markings. The grips are very fine with some minor handling wear and a crack on the lower left. Mechanically excellent. The case is
very fine with some light storage wear.
