Colorized Matted “Smoky Butte” Print - This hand colored print
depicts a picturesque butte jutting up into a beautiful blue and pink sky
in the background giving way to shrub covered plains. Photographs of
scenes like this were made famous around the globe by photographers
like L. A. Huffman. Shrubbed plains like the one in the image would
have been the perfect grazing grounds for the cattle ranchers and
shepherds in the West. The lower left of the image is hand marked
“Smoky Butte”. The visible portion of the image measures 18 7/8 inches
by 11 1/2 inches. The matting measures 28 1/2 inches by 20 inches.
CONDITION: Excellent with a distinct image and vivid coloration. The
matting is very good with storage and handling wear.
