Excellent Well-Documented Cased, Engraved, Gold Inlaid
Miniature Winchester Deluxe Model 94 Lever Action
Carbine by Mike Barrett - Serial no. 3000000, 10 1/4 inch round
bbl., blue/gold finish, hardwood stock. Manufactured c. 1993-
1995 by Mike Barrett, this is a highly attractive, 1:2 scale, non-firing replica of a Winchester deluxe Model 94 lever
action carbine. It shows extensive, masterfully executed floral scroll engraving, gold inlaid borders and bands, and
a gold inlaid “Winchester Rider” on the left and a gold inlaid leaping buck on the right. The serial number “3000000”
is gold inlaid, and the maker’s mark/date is on the lower tang. It is mounted with extremely finely figured wood
with checkered grip areas bordered by carved floral scrollwork. The engraving and gold inlay was done by Roger
Sampson, the wood on the gun by James Corpe, and the case by Dan Osterman. This miniature is pictured and described on p. 174-175 of
“The Art of Miniature Firearms, Centuries of Craftsmanship” by The Miniature Arms Society. Includes a hardwood case with interior fitted
for the carbine and an engraved informational plaque on the lid.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% plus of the original blue finish and gold inlays with only the slightest
handling evidence and the engraving and wood checkering/carving remaining crisp. The action mechanically
functions. The case is also excellent with only the slightest handling/storage evidence.

Deluxe Engraved Gold and Platinum Inlaid Miniature
Reproduction of a Theodore Roosevelt Presentation Style
Winchester Flat Side Model 1895 Rifle by Mike Barrett with Two NRA “Ten
Best” Medals - NSN, 13 inch round bbl., blue/gold/platinum finish, hardwood stock.
Manufactured c. the late 1990s or early 2000s by the talented craftsman Mike Barrett. This rifle is an
approximately 1:2 scale, non-firing replica of an early production, flat side Winchester deluxe Model 1895
rifle featuring engraving and gold and platinum inlay in the style of rifle that were presented by President
Theodore Roosevelt. The receiver features gold and platinum inlaid borders and accents, as well as gold
inlaid animals including two lions on the left, a tiger on the right, and a bear on each side of the lever bolster,
all surrounded by finely executed floral scrollwork. There are additional gold and platinum inlaid bands and
scrollwork on the barrel at the muzzle and breech. Reproductions of Winchester markings are found on the top of the
barrel and on the upper tang. The bluing was done by Terry Farrand, case coloring by Doug Turnbull, the engraving and
gold inlay by Roger Sampson, and the wood and wood finish by James Corpe. Included with the rifle are two medals
(numbered 42 and 50) awarded for one of the ten best miniature weapons at the NRA annual meeting. Also included is a
hardwood case with the interior fitted for the rifle. This miniature is pictured and described on p. 180-181 of “The Art of Miniature Firearms, Centuries of Craftsmanship” by The Miniature Arms Society.
