Factory Engraved Browning 20 Gauge BS/S Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 03201PW938, 20 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued Special Steel barrels with a single nickel bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which shows a flourish of scroll at the base, bands of engraving at the breech, added Briley
choke system (skeet/improved cylinder installed),1984 date code, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a coin finished sidelock action which displays attractive floral scroll engraving surrounding
“BROWNING” on the underside before extending to the triggerguard and toplever. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted manual safety switch. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a straight grip stock with blank silver inscription oval and a Decelerator recoil pad. Included is a factory takedown case, three extra chokes (light modified, modified, and improved modified), a set of snap caps, and a cleaning rod. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .624/.625 inches; minimum wall thickness .045/.048 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 15 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence. There is a tiny crack at the rear of the left lockplate and upper tang, otherwise the wood is very fine with a few minor dings and scratches and sharp checkering. The case is excellent. Includes a factory case with original outer box and three extra choke tubes (improved cylinder, modified, and full). Blued steel barrels with single brass bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib, standard barrel markings, 3” chambers with ejectors, and interchangeable choke system (modified/improved cylinder installed). The casehardened boxlock action displays scroll engraving surrounding a pair of pheasants on the left and a trio of mallards on the right. Double gold triggers and tang mounted automatic safety switch. Beautiful, highly figured multi- point checkered splinter forend with engraved fitting and Anson button release and straight grip stock with rubber recoil pad. Includes takedown case containing two snap caps and three extra choke tubes (skeet, improved modified, and full). Blued Spezial-gewehrlaufstahl barrels with a single steel bead on the matted concave rib, March 1993 date proof on the barrel flats, 3 inch chambers with extractor, and two strings of pearls at the breech on both barrels. The coin action displays a game scene on either side showing a triad of mallards on the left and a trio of pheasant on the right. The lower rear of the right side is signed “Heym”. The action is fitted with an automatic safety and single selective trigger. Mounted in lightly figured multipoint checkered walnut forend and pistol grip stock with engraved fittings, and Decelerator recoil pad. With correct box. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at the comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at the heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 13 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue and 99% plus original coin finishes with a couple minor handling marks on the barrels, some light oil staining on the action and crisp engraving. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted solid rib, chokes marked modified/full, 1974 dated Italian proofs, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a coin finished sidelock action which shows scroll engraving surrounding “V. BERNARDELLI” banners on either side and a pair of dogs and a stag on the underside. The gun features double triggers (front articulated) and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved shoe and a pistol grip stock with factory recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 3/16 inch drop at heel; 15 1/4 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 7 lbs. 9 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence.
