Carl Kauba “Amerika” Native American Bronze Statue - Carl Kauba (Vienna 1865-1922) vintage bronze “Amerika”.
This wonderful bronze of an Indian Chief attired in full Indian dress with a war bonnet on his head. He is semi-crouched displaying his war club in one hand
and attached to his body feathered war shield that would protect him from his enemy’s weapons. The statue was issued in very limited quantities and was considered to be his
best Indian work bronze. Even though Kauba did not visit America to view the Indians
first hand, he had a great reference library in his studio in Vienna so that he could create wonderful Indian bronzes from his various books and photos. The bronze is signed on the obverse Kauba with a Geschutz Mark (German Patent number) 6257. The dimensions are HT: 24in. X W: 10in. 2in. Circular marble base, weight ~35lbs.
CONDITION: Very good with minimal handling/storage evidence. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000
LOT 3211
“Mountain Man” Bronze by Frederic Remington - “Mountain Man” by Frederic Remington depicts a man riding his horse down a steep mountainside. The man leans back while gripping his rifle in one hand to help prevent his companion from falling down the steep surface and holds his possessions on the animal. The bronze is signed “Copyright Frederic Remington” to the left of the duo, on the hillside. The statue rests on a marble base and measures
29x21x12 inches.
CONDITION: Very fine with limited
storage and handling marks and an
attractive patina on the metal surfaces.

Two Western Themed Bronzes - 1) “Texas Ranger 1873” bronze by Metz Castleberry depicting a Texas Ranger walking in a ready stance as if to be approaching a known fugitive. The bronze has no base and measures 8x7x20 inches.
2) C.M. Russell “Cowboy Riding a Horse” bronze which
depicts a cowboy on a horse with his gun drawn
and pointed to the sky. He appears as though he
knows where trouble is at and is going to find it. The
bronze stands on a marble base and measures
8x6x14 inches.
CONDITION: Both statues are very fine with
limited handling marks and an attractive
patina on the metal surfaces.

“A Lot of Bull” Bronze by J. Gruzalski - This bronze titled “A Lot of Bull” depicts a bull in full charge goring a bear. In the depiction the bull’s right horn has pierced the side of the bear and shows the weight of the strike throwing the bear backwards. The bronze is marked
“J. Gruzalski” and “7/35” on the edge below the bear. The bronze rests on a wooden base and measures 34x15x21 inches.
CONDITION: Very fine with scattered storage and handling marks, some scratches on the base, and an attractive patina on the bronze.

Fighting Elk Bronze
by PJ Mene - This
bronze by PJ Mene
depicts two elk locked
in combat as one
throws the other to
the forest floor. The pair are likely fighting over a mate in the middle of the rut. The bronze rests on a marble base and measures 23x12x14 inches.
CONDITION: Very fine with limited storage and handling marks and an attractive patina on the bronze.

LOT 3215
Buffalo Bronze by James Gruzalski - This bronze depicts a buffalo standing with its tail lowered and curling around to the left side of the animal’s body. The left side of the creature has a bald patch as though to suggest it has survived an encounter with any number of different predators, or perhaps in a sparring match with another buffalo. The ground behind the buffalo
is signed “J. Gruzalski/12/30”. The bronze stands on a base and measures 24 1/2x11x17 inches.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, showing limited storage and handling marks and an
attractive patina on the metal surfaces. Estimate:

Jim Bowie Bronze Plaque by Clarence F. Runtsch - Jim Bowie bronze plaque done by Clarence F. Runtsch (American 1923-2010). This heavy relief bronze plaque dated 1982 shows a head shot of Jim Bowie (in formal 19th century attire). Mr. Bowie is the inventor or leading knife maker of the bowie knife & all subsequent knives that look like his original are bowie knives. Great image of the father of the bowie knives. The Lower left of the plaque is marked “Runtsch” with “11/22” and “1982” on the bottom. Measurements: 9x16 inches. Weight: approximately 15 lbs.
CONDITION: Very good with limited
storage and handling marks.
