Factory Game Scene Engraved
    and Gold Inlaid Krieghoff Model K-80 Over/Under Shotgun Four Barrel Set
with Case - Serial no. 13723, 12 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/ gold finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib which is marked “12” at the rear, 1984 dated German proofs, chokes marked skeet/skeet, and 70 mm (2 3/4 inch) chambers with automatic ejectors. The blued action displays floral scroll engraving surrounding “K80/SHOTGUNS/OF ULM/ULM W.-Germany” as well as a pair of gold inlaid game bird scenes. The engraving extends to the trigger guard, top latch, toplever, and light engraving on the upper tang. The gold game scenes consist of a pair of pheasants in flight in a woodland on the left side and
a pair of mallards in flight over a marsh on the right side. The gun features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Beautifully
figured, multi-point checkered Schnabel forend with engraved shoe and Deeley style release and a pistol grip stock with a right hand palm swell and
rubber recoil pad. Included with the gun are four matching sets of 28 inch barrels all with skeet/skeet chokes and chambers marked 76 mm (3 inches)
with automatic ejectors. Also included is a leather bound takedown case that houses the entire set. Barrel measurements for the .410 bore set (U/O): choke
constriction .009/.009 inches. Barrel measurements for the 28 gauge set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 13.9 mm (.547 inches) and both measured at .550 inches; choke constriction .007/.007 inches; minimum wall thickness .042/.055 inches. Barrel measurements for the 20 gauge set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 15.8 mm (.622 inches) and measured at .621/.622 inches; choke constriction .007/.009 inches; minimum wall thickness .043/.046 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.7 mm (.736 inches) and measured at .735/.732 inches; choke constriction .000/.000 inches; minimum wall thickness .045/.047 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 3/4 inch drop at heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs 3 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with some minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The extra barrel sets are excellent. The 228 case is very fine with some minor storage/travel wear. Mechanically excellent.
