Attractive and Documented
Mauser Swedish Commercial
Production Luger Semi-Automatic
Pistol with Holster - Serial no. 7689W, 7.65 mm Luger Auto cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. Manufactured in relatively limited quantities, a number
of Mauser pistols were shipped to Sweden
for commercial sale in Stockholm during
World War II. Having maintained a policy of
armed neutrality through the 1930s and into
the war, Sweden was open for business, and
the arms trade was one of those businesses.
This pistol is featured in “Lugers at Random” on page 281. Blade and notch sights, with a “1940” dated chamber, the “Mauser Banner” logo on
the front toggle link, and the “Kal. 7,65” caliber marking on the left side of the barrel. A set of “eagle/N” commercial proofs are present, along with an externally matching set of “military pattern” serial numbers (minus the magazine). Fitted with
a set of straw finished small parts, checkered
hardwood grips, and a blued “fxo” magazine with
an unmarked black plastic base. Includes a brown
leather flap holster with a brass eagle badge installed on the flap and a takedown tool.
CONDITION: Very fine, with 75% plus original blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina on the frame, bright edge wear, and mild spotting and handling marks overall. 85% of the bright straw color is present on the small parts, the otherwise excellent grips show some mild dings and dents on the otherwise sharp checkering, and the holster is fine and shows minor scratches and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 3,500 - 5,000
