Mike Barrett with NRA “Ten Best” Medal
- NSN, 10 1/8 inch round bbl., blue/silver finish, hardwood
stock. Manufactured c. the late 1990s, this is a highly
attractive, NRA “Ten Best” medal award winning, beautifully engraved, non-firing, miniature reproduction of a Winchester deluxe Model 1903 self-loading rifle. The frame shows profuse
Winchester pattern engraving featuring squirrel and rabbit scenes and extensive floral scroll, with the engraving signed “R. SAMPSON 95” by Roger Sampson. There are flourishes of scrollwork on the barrel at the breech
along with a inlaid gold band and flourishes of scroll on the forearm cap. It is mounted with beautifully figured, deluxe checkered wood, which was checkered by Jim Corpe. Includes a hardwood case, reproduction
miniature cartridge box, and the NRA medal. This miniature is pictured and described on p. 70-71 of “The Art of Miniature Firearms, Centuries of Craftsmanship” by The Miniature Arms Society.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus of the original blue and silver finish, with the silver showing some slightly aged patina and crisp engraving. The wood is also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and
crisp checkering. The action mechanically functions. The case is excellent with minimal handling evidence.

Miniature Winchester
Deluxe Model 1892 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine
by George Wenzek - Serial no. 5, 10 inch round bbl., blue/
gold finish, hardwood stock. Manufactured in 1992 by George
Wenzek, the consignor notes that this beautifully embellished
non-firing miniature rifle is featured on p. 85 of “The Art of
Miniature Firearms: Centuries of Craftsmanship” by the Miniature
Arms Society. This engraved and gold inlaid Winchester deluxe Model 1892 saddle ring
carbine has been masterfully reproduced in 1:2 scale. It features extensive floral scroll engraving, gold inlaid borders, and gold inlaid game scenes
on the sides of the receiver exhibiting a mountain lion and a wolf. It is mounted with attractive, straight grain wood with checkering similar to
Winchester’s F-pattern. The maker’s signature is on the lower tang. The engraving was done
by Roger Sampson and the wood checkering by James Corpe. Includes a hardwood case with
interior fitted for the carbine and an informational plaque.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% plus of the original blue finish and gold inlay
with only the slightest handling evidence and both the engraving and wood checkering
remaining crisp. The action mechanically
functions. The case is excellent with minimal
handling/storage evidence overall.

Engraved Miniature
Winchester Model 1876
Deluxe Lever Action Rifle
by Mike Barrett - Serial
no. 8717, 12 1/4 inch part
octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hardwood stock. Manufactured
in the late 1990s to early 2000s by Mike Barrett as an approximately 1:2
scale, non-firing replica of special order, highly finished, deluxe engraved
Winchester Second Model 1876 lever action rifle. The receiver features very
attractive floral scroll engraving surrounding a game scene on either side, both featuring bucks. There is further floral scroll engraving on the breech portion of the barrel. The book it is in indicates the engraver to
be Roger Sampson. The tail of the lower tang has Barrett’s mark. The top of the barrel has a reproduction of the Winchester address and King’s patent, and the model marking is on the upper tang. The miniature is in
a very attractive, special order, deluxe configuration with highly figured and checkered wood. Includes a hardwood case with the interior fitted for the rifle. This miniature is pictured and described on p. 73 of “The Art of Miniature
Firearms, Centuries of Craftsmanship” by The Miniature Arms Society.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99% plus of the blue and casehardened finishes with a light patch of wear on the tip of the magazine tube and crisp engraving. The wood is also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and
crisp checkering. The action mechanically functions. The case is excellent with only the slightest handling evidence.
